I advise parties in commercial disputes where English law applies, including matters involving overseas parties. I also accept separate appointments as a neutral mediator or arbitrator. These are different roles, and I will establish which role is being requested before considering an engagement. I do not offer court litigation.

Advice for a party
I can consider the contractual position, negotiation and options for arbitration or mediation. The agreed work may involve preparing for a process, considering the issues in dispute or advising during discussions.
The underlying subject still matters. A distribution, agency, shipping or insurance dispute can start with the relevant service page, rather than treating every disagreement as the same type of matter.
Neutral mediator appointments
I also consider appointments as a neutral mediator. In that role, I am not the legal adviser to either party. The proposed process, parties and appointment terms need to be understood before an appointment can be accepted.
Do not send one party’s confidential account through the public form when enquiring about a neutral role. Begin with the type of appointment and a brief, non-confidential outline.
Neutral arbitrator appointments
I accept separate appointments as a neutral arbitrator. In that role, I do not act as an advocate for either party. An enquiry can indicate the agreement to arbitrate, the broad subject and the appointment process without sending confidential submissions.
Neutral work requires its own suitability and conflict consideration before an appointment is accepted.

I do not offer court litigation. No referral arrangement is promised. I will consider the role, English-law scope, suitability and terms before confirming whether I can act.
