I consider legal questions arising when a marine insurance claim is being prepared, discussed or disputed. The work may involve the policy, correspondence and related commercial obligations.

A cargo or shipping-contract dispute is distinct from an insurance question. The maritime and shipping service provides a starting point for charter parties, bills of lading, cargo damage and shortages.

The parties may be based overseas provided the agreement or dispute uses English law. I offer party advice in negotiation, arbitration and mediation, and consider separate neutral appointments. I do not offer court litigation.

The appropriate role, any conflicts and the engagement terms are considered before work is accepted. Insurance placement, broking and the purchase of a policy are outside this legal enquiry flow.
